Arkham Horror

“Ashcan” Pete wakes from another nightmare to the sound of barking. He reaches out to quiet the dog and realizes he’s alone. The barking is coming from down near the river. Pete climbs to his feet and goes to see what in tarnation’s got Duke all worked up now.

“Aw, leave off, Duke,” Pete says when he gets close. “Snake like that’s more afeared of you than you is of it, anyhow.” He reaches down and touches Duke’s head. “Aw, shoot. River done rose?” Then he stares. The moonlight gleams on what he thought was river water risen up above its banks, a shining, shimmering wave moving towards the heart of Arkham. Pete keeps staring and Duke keeps barking as the awfulness of what he’s seeing slowly sinks in.

A tide of evil is flowing into Arkham.

Middle-Earth Quest

The events of MIddle-earth Quest are set in the lands described in J.R.R. Tolkien’s epic novel The Lord of the Rings. The game takes place during a time-span of 17 years. Will you take the mantle of a hero, helping Gandalf and the White Council in their struggle against the shadow? Or, will you take the role of Sauron himself, seeking the Domination, corruption, and enslavement of all that is free and kind?

The fate of Middle-earth is in your hands.

Rio Grande Games

Dominion

Power Grid

Race For The Galaxy

Rio Grande Games

As most of the really good family strategy games are designed and produced in Germany, Rio Grande Games works with the German publishers to publish English versions of these great games. When we make the games, we translate all components into English: box, board, cards, rules, etc. We select games for their great mechanisms and for the high quality of their components. Our games, like the Germans, use wood and plexiglas for many of the pieces, have gutterless boards that lie flat, and use linen paper to wrap the boards and boxes. To keep our quality high and our costs down, we produce our versions with the German versions, using the same printers and, thus, our games have the same high quality components as the Germans.

Dominion

You are a monarch, like your parents before you, a ruler of a small pleasant kingdom of rivers and evergreens. Unlike your parents, however, you have hopes and dreams! You want a bigger and more pleasant kingdom, with more rivers and a wider variety of trees. You want a Dominion! In all directions lie fiefs, freeholds, and feodums. All are small bits of land, controlled by petty lords and verging on anarchy. You will bring civilization to these people, uniting them under your banner.

Power Grid

Power Grid is the updated release of the Friedemann Friese crayon game Funkenschlag. The latest cooperative publishing effort from Friedemann Friese and Rio Grande Games, removes the crayon aspect from network building in the original editionwhile retaining the fluctuating commodities market like McMulti and an auction round intensity reminiscent of The Princes of Florence.

The object of Power Grid is to supply the mostcities with power when someone’s network gains a predetermined size. Inthis new edition, players mark pre-existing routes between cities forconnection, and then vie against other players to purchase the powerplants that you use to supply the power.

Race for the Galaxy

In Race for the Galaxy, players build galactic civilizations by game cards that represent worlds or technical and social developments. Each round consists of one or more of five possible phases. In each round, each player secretly and simultaneously chooses one of seven different action cards and then reveals it. Only the selected phases occur. For these phases, every player performs the phase’s action, while the selecting player(s) also get a bonus for that phase. For example, if at least one player chooses the Develop action, then the Develop phase will occur; otherwise it is skipped. In it, each player may simultaneously select a development from his hand of cards to build. After revealing the cards, each player adds his development to his tableau of cards on the table and then discards cards from his hand equal to its cost. Each player who chose Develop discards one card fewer as his bonus.Explore allows a player to draw cards and select which of them to add to his hand. Settle allows a player to place a world in his tableau. Some worlds produce goods, represented by face down cards, when Produce is selected. These goods can be discarded for victory points or sold to add cards to the player’s hand by selecting Consume. With cards, players can settle new worlds and build more developments, gaining both victory points and card powers that provide advantages in certain phases. The player who best manages his cards, phase and bonus selections, and card powers to build the greatest space empire, wins. The winner is the player with the most victory points.

Days Of Wonder

Ticket To Ride SmallWorld

Days of Wonder

Days Of Wonder strives for games that, for a minute or an hour, transport you to a different world. Be it being a reckless Pirate, the King's favorite, a meticulous Templar investigator, or a compulsive Chinese card player, our boxes let you step in a whole new world for the duration of your play.

Ticket to Ride

Ticket to Ride is a cross-country train adventure in which players collect and play matching train cards to claim railway routes connecting cities throughout North America.

The longer the routes, the more points they earn.

Additional points come to those who can fulfill their Destination Tickets by connecting two distant cities, and to the player who builds the longest continuous railway.

Smallworld

In Small World, players vie for conquest and control of a world that is simply too small to accommodate them all.

Designed by Philippe Keyaerts as a fantasy follow-up to his award-winning Vinci™, Small World is inhabited by a zany cast of characters such as dwarves, wizards, amazons, giants, orcs and even humans; who use their troops to occupy territory and conquer adjacent lands in order to push the other races off the face of the earth.

Picking the right combination from the 14 different fantasy races and 20 unique special powers, players rush to expand their empires - often at the expense of weaker neighbors. Yet they must also know when to push their own over-extended civilization into decline and ride a new one to victory!

Catalyst Game Labs

BattleTech

Catalyst Game Labs

Catalyst Game Labs specializes in the production of high quality products (both licensed and original), from professional media tie-in fiction to roleplaying and board games, with an emphasis on the strong support of web-based communities.

Battletech

BattleTech at its core is a board game; players move pieces on a hex-grid mapsheet, which simulates combat between various military vehicles in the thirty-first century. Unlike tabletop miniatures games, which use three-dimensional (3-D) terrain and rulers to approximate movement and combat, the core BattleTech game rules use specific, codified movement and combat ranges within a mapsheet’s hex grid.

Nevertheless, any game system that uses three-dimensional miniatures (the plastic miniatures found in the BattleTech Introductory Box Set or the complete line of BattleTech metal miniatures sold by Iron Wind Metals) looks better when played on 3-D terrain-hence the photos used in the box set and core rulebooks. Three-dimensional terrain also enhances the feel of the game. When using 3-D terrain, however, players should note that BattleTech requires hex-grids.

BattleTech is much more than a board game as presented in the BattleTech Introductory Box Set. Vibrant, strong and still growing after twenty years, the fictional universe and the valiant struggles of its dynamic human characters, set against a far-future battlefield, has endeared it to millions of fans and will continue to do so into the future.
